The ECVO examination is overseen by a committee of experienced ECVO Diplomates from various countries, each with extensive expertise in developing and administering both undergraduate and postgraduate examinations. Committee composition and contact information can be found here.
The Examination Committee will contact all eligible candidates with further examination details by February 1st of the examination year. If you have not received this confirmation by the stated date, it is your responsibility to contact the Chair directly to ensure the matter is investigated.
The ECVO qualifying examination is designed to test the candidate’s faculties for and knowledge of veterinary and comparative ophthalmology, in particular knowledge of the specified literature and the proficiency in clinical examination and ophthalmic surgery. The examination comprises a theoretical part (multiple choice questions and slide recognition section) and a practical part composed of 3 stations.
