My name is Juan Maestro Fernández and I graduated in veterinary at the University of Las Palmas, Spain in 2017 where I discovered my interest for ophthalmology. Subsequently, I completed a post-grade degree in Veterinary Ophthalmology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). Then I undertook an ophthalmology internship at the Instituto Veterinario Oftalmológico in Barcelona. In 2020 I completed a small animal rotating internship in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the UAB. After this period I worked as a general practitioner in Glories referral hospital, Barcelona. Recently, I finished an Ophthalmology internship in Memvet Centro de Referencia in Palma de Mallorca, where I started my residency program in September 2022 under the supervision of Màrina Matas Riera.
