Stamatina Giannikaki graduated as a veterinary surgeon from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), in 2012. After spending some time in general practice she undertook a two-year surgical rotating internship at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of AUTH. In 2014, she returned in small animal practice in Athens and by the end of that year, she submitted and presented her thesis gaining her Master's degree. She moved to Optivet Referrals in 2015 and completed a residency of the European College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists in January 2020. She holds the European Diploma in Veterinary Ophthalmology and has a special interest in intraocular surgery.
