Katrin Trost, born Stadtbäumer, studies Veterinary Medicine at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) in Munich. She completed an internship in small animal surgery and worked another year at the clinic for surgery of the LMU in Munich. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (Dr.med.vet.) degree from the LMU in 2000. From 2000 to the end of 2005 she worked in the eye clinic of the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna. During this time she completed a residency in Veterinary Ophthalmology. She is Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ECVO). In 2006 she started working in a clinic for small animals in Bielefeld, Germany. After a maternity leave she worked as an ophthalmologist in the Tierklinik Ismaning from 2011-2022. She became the Head of the Tierärztliches Augenzentrum München in 2022.
