Vim graduated as a veterinary surgeon from the University of Bristol in 2005. He spent seven years in first opinion small animal, mixed and exotics species practice in Bristol and the Southwest of England, gaining his Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Certificate in Veterinary Ophthalmology in 2012 and RCVS Advanced Practitioner status in 2015. He worked as an ophthalmologist at large private referral hospitals in Bristol and Swindon (2012-2019) before commencing his ECVO residency at Langford Vets, University of Bristol in August 2019, completing his final year of residency training and Master of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Royal Veterinary College. He became an ECVO diplomate in April 2024. Having previously split his time between North Downs Specialist Referrals and London Vet Specialists (LVS), he now heads the Ophthalmology Service at LVS. Vim has particular interest in feline ophthalmology, infectious keratitis, ocular manifestations of systemic disease and wildlife/exotics species ophthalmology, as well as oculoplastic and corneal surgery. He is also very passionate about teaching and mentoring junior vets and undergraduate students. He is the Junior Vice Chair of the British Association of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (BrAVO), an examiner for the BSAVA Postgraduate Certificate in Small Animal Ophthalmology, and an Associate Editor of Vet Record Case Reports.
